Nach "Duo" und "Solo" erweitert VU+ seine Produktpalette mit dem Uno um ein weiteres Modell. Der Receiver wartet mit einem interessanten Feature auf: dank Wechseltuner-Technologie hat der Nutzer die Wahl, ob er Fernsehen über Satellit oder Kabel empfangen möchte.
Der Wechsel ist dabei alles andere als kompliziert. Nachdem der Receiver vom Netz genommen wurde, müssen die Tuner einfach ausgetauscht werden. Beim Neustart wird die neue Empfangsvariante sofort erkannt. Zur Verfügung stehen eine Kombination aus DVB-C und DVB-T und ein DVB-S2-Tuner. Letzterer kann laut Digitalfernsehen DiSEqC-1.0-, -1.1-, -1.2- und USALS-Anlagen (+Einkabelanlagen) steuern. Ist eine Festplatte integriert, sind bis zu vier parallel laufende Aufnahmen möglich, die uncodiert abgespeichert werden. Eine Bild-in-Bild-Funktion ist ebenfalls vorhanden, die jeweils zwei SDTV- und HDTV-Kanäle parallel darstellt. Auch für das Hochrechnen von SDTV-Material eignet sich die Box. Der Wechsel zwischen HD-Sendern soll bei rund 1,5 Sekunden liegen. Dies ermöglicht ein leistungsstarker 400-Megahertz-Prozessor, durch den sich bei eingebauter Festplatte zusätzlich Datenträger über eSATA oder USB nutzen lassen. Mit HDMI, CI und Kartenleser bietet der Receiver weitere wichtige Anschlüsse.
Der VU+ Uno dürfte mit seinem Wechseltuner viele Nutzer ansprechen und dank des flotten Prozessors muss man sich auch nicht mit langen Umschaltzeiten herumplagen.
BCM7413 - Multiformat HD Digital Video/Audio SoC with DVR and 3D Graphics
The BCM7413 is a multi-format IPTV SoC that is optimized to support SD and ED output resolutions, HDMIv.1.3/HDCP1.2 (up to 480p/576p) and video DAC support for S-video and composite video. It also supports dual-SD decode with picture-in-picture (PIP) output.
Integrated in 65 nm technology, the BCM7413 offers one of the highest levels of single-chip system performance available for STB applications.
